I was sent these by LorealistarUK. These gel coutures are honestly amazing! I’ve had gels done at a salon before and each time, my nails were damaged afterwards. These varnishes are so easy to apply - I do a couple of layers of the colour and then one layer of the top coat. The varnish looks great for at least a week - I end up having to remove it because you end up being able to see the nail growth :) I would say that these varnishes dry remarkably quickly as well. I have bought some more colours with my own money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay this stuff is so good! I just paint on a color and then you can paint this on top. It doesn’t need a UV light. It hardens the polish and tones down the shininess. It’s a very quick process, within a matter of seconds. You can see if curing and turning less shiny. It also makes the color underneath look really good without being super shiny. I’ve had it on for a week already with no chipping or anything. I can’t speak to removing it. I read that regular nail polish will work, so if that’s true that’s even better than going to get shellac or dip and having to remove it. So I would definitely recommend this!!

Beautiful matte look and seals great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I prefer a light matte look to my polish and this has been my go to gel top coat for a while now. Ive used the shine as well with just as good of an end result. The gel glides on smooth with a wide brush tip and it really only takes one coat. I also use it as a sealer for nail stickers and decor and it works beautifully at sealing everything on good. This top coat also helps to keep your polish looking fresh longer and prevents chipping. I've used it with just a standard polish rather than a gel one and it works even better on it. For the price, it's top notch and really gives your final look it's luster.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, got this a well over 2 weeks I believe and I enjoy this gel mattte couture. So, basically you will get your reguar essie gel nail polish the color of your choosing of course. Put it on your nails like any nail polish. Let it sit for a few minutes. Because if you try putting the couture while its wet well, the result are not the best. After the your gel nail polish dries. It lools just like any gel finish so this is when you add the couture to your nails, and as your waiting for it to dry you can see as your gel nail polish because to change into this beautiful matte finish. And it looks so nice.

Great Matte Top Coat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This goes on so easily, I tried it over a fuchsia color and really like how it turned out. I personally think matte polish is an Autumn thing so I am super excited to use this over more colors then, like different oranges, browns and purples. I feel you get that cozy vibe with matte polish, and if you already own a bunch of non matte colors, this is so awesome to have to be able to give them that matte look! I do think you have to be a little quick with light strokes when you apply it though, it dried quick for me and you definitely don't want to use too much or it won't dry well or look well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m shocked! I’ve never tried a product that instantly made my nail polish matte just under a minute. It goes on very easily it does have a slight clear white-ish color to it. The white packaging is really nice and I love the style of the bottle. I will also like that I has an indication that a step to when doing nails. I like that it doesn’t clump when putting it on top of a nail polish. I really like that it doesn’t change the color of your nail polish also. I do feel that if you wash your hands a lot like I do and just be prepared to do your nails again within a couple of days. Overall I love the product is actually my favorite to be able to modify female polish without going to the nail shop.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wanting to try a matte top coat for a while now...I love Essie's Gel Couture collection ( I really do feel like it lasts so much longer) so I figured this would be a good one to try. So far I am really pleased with it! I can get a solid week out of my manicures with it (full disclosure - I am VERY hard on my nails and between baths, dishes, etc etc, my nails usually last me 2 days). I like that the matte effect gives my nails a different look than the usually shiny polish. I probably won't use this every time, but I love it for when I want to change things up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the color that was sent to me, a beautiful pink called V.I.Please. I used it on both my hands and toes, and received many compliments. The top coat “01 Matte Top Coat” was good. But, it didn’t seem like it stayed “matte” for as long as expected. If I cooked, I’d get spots. If I did the dishes, I’d get spots. I rubbed it with a bit of rubbing alcohol, it’d go back to matte. Which is why I’ve given 4 stars. I think the polishes themselves are amazing. Great value. Quality. Etc. but since I’m reviewing the top coat, it didn’t quite get a 5 star rating from me.

Even my husband noticed and complimented the matte look of my nails. This stuff is great!! It goes on so smoothly. It dries super quickly in my opinion. My favorite part is… I wash my hands about 100 times a day. This doesn’t chip easily at all!! It is long lasting and that’s so hard to find. It still looks great after working with my hands and tons of hand washing. I have already recommended this to others when they said they loved my matte nails. Highly recommend!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically stick with gel or dip polish on my fingers because I have a hard time staying still long enough to not smudge immediately after I paint my nails. When I saw how quickly this Essie gel couture dries on my toes and how cute the matte top coat looks, I decided to give it a try on my fingernails as well. I painted them in the car on the way to a kids birthday party. This picture is two days later!! That is unheard of for me with polish especially when I jump on a water slide less than 20min after I painted them. This stuff is quick dry and awesome!!

Beautiful Soft Matte that's smooth and lasts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Essie Gel Couture Matte Top Coat works very well at mattifying any nail look. It's not chunky or gritty when applied and dries mostly transparent so the color underneath is not altered too much. It also helps to keep your nails fresh and seals the color and design in well so you aren't dealing with multiple chipped nails after a few days. It's a great formula and levels itself very well. I've used it alone and with the color it came with for review and it works very well in both cases and there's no weird interaction between the different formulas.

Amazing Matte Polish!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have seen lots of matte polish recently and I wanted to try it on myself. I am trying to grow my nails out after biting them for years. I paired the matte polish with Essie’s V.I.Please (which is a gorgeous berry color). It looks perfect with just one coat and it dried pretty quickly! After a couple minutes I applied the Matte Top Coat and I was amazed! The polish turned completely matte and gave me the look I desired! I can’t wait to paint the matte top coat on other colors throughout the year! Can’t believe how easy it was to achieve the look I wanted!! So happy this polish works like it says!! Adding photos of nails before and after matte coat. Pointer and middle fingers have matte coat and the other 3 are shiny (without top coat)

And the pictures I was able to take didn't do much justice at all!! The glossier photo is when I applied my cuticle oil and it left the nails shiny til it dried and then I was able to see the polish go back to matte. The polish itself was a glossy polish. When I added the gel matte top coat and it dried it was an amazing transformation to a beautiful matte look! Highly impressed. I can't wait to explore this top coat over different colors!!

Love the matte finish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a fan of the matte finish trend, and I was able to achieve that with this top coat. I used it on top of a Step 1 gel couture nail color. I waited for the base color to completely dry, then used the top coat. Both went on very smoothly, but the top coat did take some of the nail color off, so that's why I docked some stars from this review. I will keep testing to see if I should do a second coat of the nail color, or let it dry even longer to see what is the best way to keep all the nail color on while using the top coat.

This gel polish gorgeous, bright, what’s important for me it was pretty easy to layer it on my nails without making a mess, I’m impressed by application! The layers go so smooth and effortless. I have two layers and it got dried pretty quickly with no UV lamp. The color is bright, it gets deeper with more layers, I think it’s perfect for summer time: fun time-fun nails.

Nail Polish is not meant for Matte

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Essie Gel nail polish - it's the only brand I use. I was intrigued by this matte top coat because I haven't seen anything like it. However, I was very disappointed. The Matte finish just made my nails look chalky and didn't highlight the beautiful color underneath. It also brought out the brush marks and imperfections of my paint job. I left it for a day and had to go back over it with the normal top coat because I couldn't take the look of it anymore. Love Essie, but just not this product.

I found it easy to use and the dry time was on the quicker side, however I did not like the finish it gave my nails. Additionally, after a couple days the "matte" effect started to fade and what remained was questionable. I do actually like a matte-finish nail polish here and there but these looked more satin-matte than true matte. Therefore, while the quality is good and it was easy to apply, I cannot recommend this top-coat over other ones.

The pink and top coat dried SO fast!! It was not even a minute - having to wait for nail polish to dry is the worst. The matte coat softened the base color and the matte finish was beautiful. Most nail polishea have a glossy shine so this was the best part. So far the nail polish is holding up and not chipping. The cool shaped bottle was a nice twist too.

It went on thick and glided evenly onto my toes. I only Used one coat it was so think and did not pill or clump. It’s a great nail polish. I let completely dry and then used the matte top coat and allowed it to dry. It worked perfectly and took all the shine out. I love That you can use it with any color. It is the best. This top coat leaves the perfect about of color while taking away the shininess and I'm OBSESSED. It's also pretty quick drying, only needed one coat, and held up for nearly 4 days without chipping despite going rock climbing, traveling around europe, and being generally pretty rough on my hands. One of the best brands out there, and at this price it's completely unbeatable!

The bottom polish I used was a pink color in the Essie Gel Couture line. They pair well together. The gel polish lasts longer than the regular type of polish. I like the finish of the matte top coat. You can do every nail or just use it as an accent. I like doing the later. I like the versatility this matte top coat gives.

Is the best top coat ever lasts for days. I use this at home on top of two coats of Essie polish and it dramatically extends the wear without chips. I’m able to go about 10 days with this top coat. Also helps polish dry faster and resist smudges. The brush and formula are so good that I can apply it quickly, and yet it goes on so smooth and I get such even coverage. Love it, looks fresh and stays looking pretty longer than other formulas.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is a lot I loved about this nail polish, but I just couldn’t get on board with the matte look. The way the brush is shaped makes for an incredibly easy and clean application. It drys quick, which is always a must. It lasted 2/3 days without chipping. The matte look just looked unfinished to me. I think I might have liked it more if my skills were better. I loved everything about this brand, so would just pick a different style top coat next time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Essie gel couture matte top coat is a very nice product. I love that the bottle is unique and twisted. This product has a viscosity that is not too thick but not too thin either . I love that it's a gel top coat that doesn't need to be cured with a uv lamp. The shape of the brush allows for the Essie gel couture matte top coat to go on easy and even across the whole nail. It instantly makes shiny nail polish matte but with a hint of shine. I've tried it with the other Essie polish it came with and with other brands .I have found that it works better and look better on darker colors . On lighter or pastel polish it doesn't look as good . I have Also learned that if you don't spread the Essie gel couture matte top coat evenly it will bubble. Over all a great product. Looks great with some nail art metallic tape on for a modern matte french mani and pedi .

I love that the brush is perfectly shaped so that you can easily do your nails at home and have them look professional and not messy. The topcoat is a beautiful matte and keeps my nails looking great for longer than other topcoats. I'd say my nails usually look good for about a week after painting them with this!

It goes on just like any other clear top coat, but slowly dries into the perfect matte finish. I was skeptical about how it would look and was worried it would give off a chalky appearance. As you can see from the photo added, it is the perfect balance between shine and matte. This was only one coat of gel top coat.

Satin Finish and Quick Drying

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was different. I wouldn't really say that it is matte, more of a satin finish which was nice. I am terrible at painting my own nails and the matte top coat erased a world mistakes (that I made) applying gel paint that I got with the matte top coat (meant to work with the top coat). I did notice that the top coat pitted if I only used one coat and that it rubbed off after a few days and needed to be re-applied.

I can really say that it does last long and time and chip resistant. I do my usual cleaning and with usual nail polishes they end up worn and chipped. This matte top coat does really last. You don't need any uv light all you do is just two coats and thats it. Perfect addition to use with any of the essie collection.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m hoping this will work for my daughters, we have taken them to salons and paid for shellac polishes, for it only to chip off within 24 to 48 hrs after the fact. Using alcohol to dry their nail oils up doesn’t seem to help either. Fingers crossed that this works out for them. So far we’re at 24hrs and going strong. I love a matte finish myself and know for certain it will work on my nails as they’re not super oily.

I have had an at home mani using the topcoat and gel polish last more than 7 days without chipping- I’m never turning back! I will say though, the matte look is not for everyone. I use my hands a lot but they still lasted several days looking great. I might touch up the ends of the fingers today but I love how the top coat went on. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Essie has by far become one of my favorite polish brands. This new Matte Top Coat is no exception. I love how it looks!! I usually love having the shiny polished nails but I tried this out and I really loved it. It gives a whole new look to your polish. It also makes the nail feel somewhat velvety which I like because I cant stop fidgeting with my fingers. I highly recommend trying!!

I painted my toes this morning with step one and two and I gotta say I'm in love with the color and quality of the nail polish! I was in the garden all day today and not one chip in my nail polish! My toes look sexy and I feel good and they are durable! Perfect for date night or any occasion! Really excited to see what other colors they have available!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Essie is one of my BFF brands so I was very excited to try their gel line!! I used 2 thin coats of VIPlease (spicy berry color), added some flowers & the matte top coat. Two weeks later my edges are just starting to chip but that's after a TON of days of rock yardwork & playin in the beach sand. I'm super impressed, if you take care of your nails it will last even longer!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First - the brush on this top coat is AMAZING. The matte coat went on very easily and smooth. Easy to apply and dried pretty quickly. User error - I didn't wait long enough for dry time so I smudged a few nails. Matte is not my favorite, I prefer the shiny top coat. I don't think I'm hip enough for matte. BUT I would recommend this to anyone that does like a matte finish.
