Beautiful shimmer, color not as expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bikini Snapped calls itself a velvety bubble blue shimmer. It is also listed as special effects nail polish that features holographic and light reflecting finishes. I would not describe it as velvety blue. I will agree that it has a nice special finish to it that is holographic/light reflecting.
This color is pretty but I felt like it took me quite a few coats to get any real color to show. I personally wouldn’t use it on its own, but could see it being a really nice finishing coat on top of another color. Based on the bottle color, I was expecting a vibrant blue. It’s a much different color but does carry a beautiful sheen and glimmer to it.

Magic!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am in love with this ESSIE bikini, snapped nail lacquer. This “nail polish” looks beautiful for the summer. It goes on clear/blue and looks sparkly almost as if it changes in front of your eyes. It also looks beautiful over other nail polish shades. It went on even and smooth and did not streak or clump. It dried quickly and is easy to remove with nail polish remover. I love the variety of shades this brand offers in their line. I use everything from nail polishes to nail hardeners by this brand and have never been disappointed. Their products are priced very affordably and are available in all the stores I frequently shop.

Sunshine in a Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t originally planning to try Limon Cielo—I had picked Bikini Snapped, but this was sent to me instead. Limon Cielo turned out to be a super vibrant, cheerful yellow that just screams summer in the best way. The color is bold and fun without being too in-your-face. Like with Riviera Rush, one coat gives pretty solid coverage, but two coats and a clear top coat give that smooth, glossy, professionally done look. The formula is consistent with what I’ve come to expect from Essie—easy to apply, not streaky, and long-lasting. If you’re looking for a happy, sunny shade to brighten up your nails, Limon Cielo is such a fun pick—even if it was a surprise one ☀️

An innovation in nail care

First of all the packaging is so cute and would look perfect in a beach bag or travel bag for the summer. I absolutely love the innovation in nail care that I am seeing in this nail polish and color. I love how it can be worn alone or by itself and still be a stunning color. I'm so excited for all of the different looks I can do with this color. So far I have loved wearing it alone just because of the reflective technology and special effects. It's truly gorgeous. And when I say it's perfect for summer and spring let me tell yall, I can just imagine how beautiful this color would glisten in the sun by the ocean. It's a MUST have for your summer trips and more.

Blue jelly nails

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Bikini Snapped nail polish topper is a nice but very subtle sheer sparkly blue color. I personally like to put it over a nail color as I don’t like the look of it just by itself. It goes nicely over Essies Riviera Rush color, I included a photo of the topper over Limon Cielo and Riviera Rush as well as just the topper plain over my nails. It’s very subtle but it does add a nice touch to my nails, I recommend using two coats to really make your nails shimmer!

Pretty color but bad application

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Color-wise, I love the vibrant turquoise color of this nail polish. It is such a perfect color for spring and summer! It missed the mark on the application, though. It is thick and gloppy. The applicator absorbed too much and it applied like a hot mess. I typically love Essie’s nail polish but I was expecting to give myself an easy and precise manicure, no problem. It just came out too fast and I wasn’t in love with the end results!

Very Subtle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this complimentary in exchange for my honest review. I pictured the shade Bikini Snapped by Essie to be close to what the bottle appears, but unfortunately this is not the case. This is an extremely pale blue that provides the sheerest hint of color. On its own, this shade gives a shimmery, pearl effect with shifts of blue to purple. Layered over other colors, and this can take a matte to a shimmer, but will not drastically change the shade. I have owned several comparable shades and this one just is not as special as I had hoped for based on the shade of the bottle and the special effects naming. If you are looking for a transforming top coat that really gives a duo chrome or holographic effect, this is not it. I would consider this more for those who want a subtle effect that is more noticeable in natural light, but not who want nails that do major shifts in color.

…but I did let my girlfriend borrow Essie’s “Bikini Snapped,” and the verdict is in: she’s absolutely in love with it.
Her take on the color:
A bright, sun-kissed coral with the prettiest shimmer. She said it’s the kind of shade that instantly makes your hands look more tan, more polished, more “vacation-ready.” Safe to say, I noticed too.

Great color for an extra special effect

Love the quality, it was comfortable and last me over 4 days and that’s amazing for me since my nail polish never last. You can of course use it on its own, but it looks great as a sparkle on top of your standard polish. I found it last roughly about a week, but I don’t treat my nails that well. Super fun for summer.

A good topper shade.
