Great finish

I don’t always have time to do my nails as I have two kids, one who has additional needs, I’m disabled and have a lot of medical appointments and also I run my own business. So I don’t always have time to do my nails, or they chip quickly. I have taken the time to do my nails and use the top coat, it’s left my nails beautifully shiny and so far chip free.

This is the best top coat nail polish I have ever used. The nail polish went on extremely well, it wasn’t thick and gloopy like other brands I’ve used. I applied two coats over the top of my usual nail polish and I was extremely impressed with the high gloss shine it gave my nails. I was actually surprised at how fast it dried too and being a busy mom this is perfect as I don’t get long to paint my nails and always end up smudging them! The polish itself lasted really well with hardly any chipping after 7 days which is fantastic as I’m always washing up. Overall I’m extremely happy with the product and would highly recommend to others.

I have been using speed setter for a while and have turned on all of my friends to this great life changing top coat. I would use Essie first base, Essie color and then this top coat. My mani would last at a minimum 9 days but sometimes two weeks, depending on the amount of cleaning I’d do! This last time I bought a bottle, it looked different. I thought maybe just a packaging change but something must be different with the actual product. I painted my nails Saturday and by Sunday I had three peel off. Almost the whole color peeled at once. I redid those and the next day two more peeled ! I’m so sad because this was my go to top coat!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nail setter has made me so happy I stopped doing my nails because I don't have enough time for them to dry by the time I have to do other stuff around the house. So with this I painted 2 coats of regular Essie nail polish then applied this Nail Setter and they were good to go after about 10 minutes no more tack no finger prints left in them. I even took out some trash and they touched a lot of things that should have scratched them an it didn't they stayed so shiny but you do need a top coat if you want it to last or it will peel away a day later. But it does what it should I will be buying this again I love it. I do recommend it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was skeptical when getting this because I've never found a speed setter that actually worked fast BUT this is awesome! My daughter and I love to paint our nails but we both don't have the best patience when it comes to waiting for it to dry. First, I did my daughters nails and told her to try and sit still while she finished her show which had 10 minutes left. she lasted about 5 and then started doing flips off the bed and when she came back I looked and her nails weren't messed up at all! I did my nails and ended up having to leave to go to the store and they were dry in no time! It also is a top coat and makes my nails nice and shiny. Highly recommend!!

Fast slick and shiny

I love having freshly painted nails but having a busy toddler and a hectic week, I struggle to find the time to spend on myself that often so any time saving trick is always a bonus. This Essie Speed Setter top coat is genius - it shortens the drying time of nail varnish and allows me to get on with things without having to wait for my nails to dry for as long as I usually would without it. It applies easily, the brush is a good size and shape, and it leaves my polish looking shiny and slick. I may have been too eager to get on with things, and 5 minutes after applying, picking up a towel did dislodge one edge of my polish and leave a slightly ridged effect, so i'd say 7-10 mins would be a better bet to leave the polish until it's more firmly set.

Only shiny while it lasts

I bought this hoping it would just do what it said, provide a shiny top coat and dry quickly. It did both for the first day and by day 2 (the next morning actually) most of my nails were flaked off at the tips, and some were completely peeled off! For the record I used Essie Grow Stronger Base Coat applied to clean, dry nails first, and have short nails that do not extend beyond the tips of my fingers. I use my hands for normal activity, not more than that. I'm very disappointed with this product which is quite expensive compared to other brands generally available. I won't purchase it again.

This product is so handy for painting my nails, i find painting my nails so much easier by adding this over my nail colour as a top coat, my nails dry so quickly and easily. It adds the perfect shine and dries very fast, which helps if you have to do anything right after you paint your nails!! Great for anyone looking for a quick nail paint.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Buy this product!!! The Essie speed setter polish works so well. I put two coats of nail polish on, waited a couple minutes, and then applied the speed setter. I tried to be careful with my nails, just in case it took a bit of time to fully dry the polish, so I can't say exactly how quick it worked. I will say that in ten minutes or less, my nails were completely good to go! I've tried other brands drops and things to quick dry polish, but they're always messy and leave my nails a bit soft. As a parent, I really don't have time to fully dry my nails or settle for drops that leave them soft. I usually just end up not painting my nails. I'm very happy to now be able to paint and quickly dry my nails!

I'm not to keen on top coats usually as they always take on the colour of your nail varnish and go from clear to tinted. Not the case with this one. It did pick up colour but it was the tiniest amount that I only noticed as I was being very observant. It went on very smoothly as its nice and thin, unlike others which can be thick and gloopy. I found that my nail varnish lasted a little longer than usual and didn't peel or chip at the corners which usually happens as my hands are always very busy. I even managed to do some mechanical work on my motorbike without a scratch to show for it.

Nails dried In under a minute!

The overall design of the handle makes it easy to get the perfect grip and angle to achieve a smooth finish to my nails every time. After quickly prepping my nails I applied this to my bare nails resulting in a clean fresh classic look that makes such a difference. Went on smoothly with the first coat with no air pockets and a high quality shine that lasted throughout the week. I also tried it over my Essie polish and my nails looked freshly groomed and had the same results. Works great on it's own or over polish. I'm very pleased with Essie and will continue to use their products!

This is the best top coat I have ever used. Dries super fast sealing the polish underneath as well. It dried in about under minute, leaving a hard, very glossy finish on my nails! I always get a minimum of 10 days with no chipping! Very happy!

Only the Topcoat Dries Quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm pretty torn on how to review this. Once dry, this topcoat is really good. It's slick, shiny and seems to be hard wearing. It does dry the topcoat to the touch in a minute, as described. The problem is that it ONLY dries the top coat of nail polish quickly. The coats underneath will still be wet if you don't give them enough time to dry on their own. The first time I used the topcoat, I didn't allow enough time for each individual layer to dry and I had problems with the polish slipping on my nails, creasing and dimpling. The second time, I was more careful and took more time in between each coat of polish and it looked great. I Maybe that's how it is intended to be used, but if so it doesn't save much time overall.

Its in the name, this top coat should help to set the color quickly while it gives your nails a great and quick drying top coat! But you do have to give the first coat of color a chance to dry (a few minutes) before applying the second coat of color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a speed setter before so I tried to paint 1 nail, then apply the speed setter immediately after and it didn't work (my nail polish smudged and took longer than 1 minute to dry). But then I painted two coats on my fingers. THEN applied the top coat (as people normally do with a top coat) and it definitely dried in a minute! Highly recommend! As a busy mom, I often don't pain my nails because I don't have time to wait for them to dry. But now with these speed setter- I will definitely be able to paint them more often!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a super busy mom with family and a baseball son so I'm always on the go go go. I was so glad to try the Essie speed setter drops. They are very easy to use and it actually does what it says and will have your nails dry in a minute or two at the very most. The only tip that I have is you have to apply the drops near the cuticle and move ur finger around to try to get the drop to spread around on all the nail to maximize coverage and drying ability. But it works very well just a little practice in the drop and spread maneuver.

This top coat ACTUALLY WORKED. My nails were dry and ready to go quickly. I applied one coat of color and waited a minute and a half then added one coat of top coat and waited two minutes and they were completely dry. I was able to cover up with my throw blanket on the couch for a movie and eat popcorn without having to worry about my nails! I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

I came on here just to write a review (and to purchase more!). I was surprised to not see a 5/5 rating for this. It dries SO quickly; I also always wash my hands with cold water once it's dry to really set everything, and from there, I can go about my day without any worries. I have tried other topcoats (Essie's included), and with two coats of polish + the topcoat, I'm waiting 30+ minutes for them to dry, only to all smudge the minute I try and do something. I don't know how this dries and protects so well, but it works!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are two kinds of dry. The first is dry to the touch but as soon as you do something you get an instant irreversible smudge. The second is dry and set. Takes forever to achieve. I've used a lot of topcoats and different ways to try to get my nails to set quickly. My expectations for the speed setter were kinda low. Boy was I blown away. I used a polish that needed quite a few coats to achieve the color I was looking for. Normally, with that many layers, it takes FOREVER for my nails to set and dry before I wind up smudging them. This speed setter was absolutely amazing. Not only did it completely set my nails but it did it in like 2 mins. I cured it with my LED light just to be on the safe side. I am completely amazed and will keep a bottle of this on hand forever.

They set pretty well, however you can still leave a finger print in them. And even 2-3 minutes later they still print. However they did not smudge. That is a huge plus. I think if I did not have to coat 3 layers of base coat it would have been fine. I will try it again another day with base that has better coverage. I would definitely give it a try, especially when you have the time to relax and polish.

My first use I was amazed… most top coats are thick (and even a bit goopy). Essie is not thick… it goes on so easily and drys like lightning. It leaves a beautiful and super shinny finish. It lasts a good week with no chipping… I love that. Why didn’t I know about this before? I will never paint my nails again without it!!

I put it on right after I finished my first hand by the time I was half way through my second hand my nails were dry on the first hand. I can’t believe how fast it worked! The brush is so big and “nail shaped” it’s one of the best made brushes in nail polishes but all Essie bottles have nice brushes. This also left an amazing shine on my nails. I will never paint my nails without this speed setter again! It’s a must buy and see for yourself! So worth it!

I’m not the most patient person and usually do not like sitting around doing nothing while waiting for my nails to dry. That is where Esse’s Speed Setter is an essential component of any manicure. This fast Dry Top Coat has a thick formula and the brush is a nice size, allowing even coverage over the nails in a couple of strokes. It does make your nails dry quickly, but truth be told not in a minute like it claims to do. It is dry to the touch but I wouldn’t go change my clothes right away. You’ll ruin that manicure if you do not wait around 10 minutes. My only complaint is that my nails chipped after a couple of days.
I do really live the high gloss shine it gives and it adds a bit of luxury to my at home manicure. Definitely recommend!

Bought this top coat instead of good2go because all my manicure routine is essie and i was sure about quality and longwear. But not this time! On a second day all manicure peels off on 2 fingers. Never faced it before. Color lifted off in one piece from a nail like a thin film. Definitely the problem is caused by top coat, all other products (base and color) are my usual products, all essie. Check the quality of this top coat, this is real dissapointment and waste of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first time using the Essie Speed Setter & it did not disappoint. I had applied a base coat & two coats of nail polish. I let the last coat of nail polish dry for a couple of minutes on its own and then applied the speed setter. It definitely sped up the drying process. I was careful with my nails for fifteen minutes or so but they were clearly drier in that short time using the Essie speed setter than after using another quick dry brand so I was quite happy.

I had no idea how much I would love this speed setter! I am buying bottles for my sister and Mom so they know how wonderful it is. I was seriously in shock at how fast my nails had set. I also love that the polish has not chipped a week later and I have hand washed dishes and scrubbed floors. I am hard on my hands and this has definitely held up!

I love to do my nails at home, but sometimes it seems like it takes hours for them to completely dry. It never fails, I end up with smudges because I have other things to do and of course my nails aren't fully dry. I've used Speed Setter a few times to see how well it worked on one coat of polish versus two coats and how long the results lasted and I'm impressed. If I'm using a color that I prefer one coat of polish, Speed Setter has it dried in about three minutes. If I use two coats of polish, it's between five and ten, it varies on how thick my coats of polish are. It kept my nail polish looking flawless without any chipping for about nine days with both. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a time saving way to do their nails or just wanting to extend their manicure.

I can swipe this on my painted nails and 35 seconds later they are completely dry! It leaves my nails so shiny and really makes my manicure last. This is by far the best topcoat I have ever used! I know there’s loads of nail brands that claim to have a really fast drying polish, but I can guarantee this one will beat it! By the time I’d finished painting my nails they were almost dry! It really accentuates whichever colour I wear under it, gives it a bold & shiny finish! I’m a busy working Mum of 2 & this is the first product that actually successfully prolongs my colour & prevents chipping!

This does not do that. The edges are gorgeous! And it dries in 60 seconds. I use a popular nail polish strip, somewhat like a sticker, I use this over it to keep them from cracking, add strength and keep them glossy. I'm in love and I have added this to my online wish list. Do yourself a favor and buy this!

I think the trick to this topcoat is to make sure you use 2 coats and to add another coat every few days to keep your manicure intact for longer (as Essie recommends on their website).
I gave myself a manicure this morning, and 30 mins after applying this topcoat I washed dishes without gloves. My nail polish stayed perfectly intact. So, it definitely gets the job done!

Game Changer!....Best Top Coat on the Market!!

I have been doing my own nails for over 25 years. I have used every top coat introduced for natural nails. Speed Setter outperforms them all! Nail prep is the key and avoidance of water for 5-6 hours after helps set the polish. The drying speed is superior and allows me to do light tasks quickly after polishing. A fresh coat every 2-3 days really provides a grea of security to my nails, protecting them when i hit them because they are long. Yes the formula thickens when the bottle reaches half full, however, this is a minor inconvenience because the formula is so superior. If this product ever leaves the market, I will be so sad!!! On another note Essie, please bring back the product FILL THE GAP (Keratin and Bamboo Treatment). This is another superior Essie product and it works!! Put simply, it really works!!! I hope you are listening Essie!

I'm amazed at all the bad reviews, but I guess they were from a few years ago. Maybe they've changed the formula since, because this is the best quick-dry top coat around. I use it with all my polishes, it leaves my nails shiny and set, and my manicures can last for nearly two weeks. I used to be a big Seche Vite fan, but this blows it out of the water for durability. If you haven't tried it lately, give it another go. It's an A+ product.

It claims it dries in under a min. That is not true in my case. I would say fries in under 2.5 min. It dries to a super shiny finish. Unfortunately my nails were chipping 3 days later so not sure about the durability of it but it definitely dries faster than just a regular top coat.

I found this product and I will tell you it is so nice to use after you paint your nails apply this speed setter top coat and it helps your nails dry so much faster it doesn't take an hour to get dry and then have smudges. I just know you are going to want to try this you will be really happy with this.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my speed setter in the mail a few weeks ago. It definitely does exactly what is stated. It dries my nails super quick. As one of those people who tend to mess up their nails and hour after polishing them this is a must. I still put my nails underneath a fan in order to make sure they are dry but it is definitely not needed because they feel dry super quick. A good purchase to carry to the nail shop when you go.

Dries fast, peels off

Maybe i didn’t use as intended, but it peeled off the very next day after applying. I used the ‘Here to Stay’ base then this topcoat, no color polish. It dried very fast, within 5 minutes, but the next day when driving I noticed the topcoat had peeled off but the base stayed. Maybe it bonds better to color polish. The same day I painted my toes with the same base, then ‘Take it Outside” and have had no issues for 4 days.
