Brilliant shine and so natural
I have just tried the - ballet slippers shade of Essie nail polish. It's super stylish and so natural. It's perfect for a French manicure or a really natural daily wear. I love the effect it has on the nail as it has a lovely high shine appearance, really glossy. It's applies really well, very easy and I only needed one coat. i would love to try other shaded of Essie nail varnish as really high quality.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Its a quality product
This is first time i usee nail paint of this company and i am highly impressed with the quality...it dries really quickly and has very thin coat..for good result apply 2 coats..this color is very light...they have long lasting result...i dont like dark shades on nails which makes them prominent and bold..so this is perfectly for me...it looks glossy and leaves shine on nails...its also very thin makes me feel like my nails are breathing unlike othe nail paints...its very easy to remove as well with any nail polish remover

Not a fan of thick formula...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's that kind of nail polish that goes on messy. No matter how hard you try. It's kind of goopy thick but it only takes two coats to get completely opaque. The redeeming quality is that after you put it on your nails and the polish that got on your skin wears away, your nail looks pretty good then. It dries evenly and it dries fairly fast it's just not my preferred formula. It's the messy part that really bothers me. Maybe if you're really really really good and nail polish you might get it to work without making a mess but if you're not then you're just going to have to deal with that and getting it off your skin after you apply your polish.

HI AmandaH, thank you for sharing such a detailed and honest review. We’re so glad to hear that you enjoyed the fast drying time and the great opaque coverage after just two coats! However, we’re truly sorry to hear that the formula felt a bit goopy and made for a messy application. This formula should glide on easily, it sounds like your bottle of color may not be up to our usual standards. However, your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we'll be sharing these comments with our product team to help us improve the experience for everyone.

Why change did Essie change Sugar Daddy color?
I’m a professional manicurist for over 25 years and one of the polishes I use the most is the “original version” of Sugar Daddy. It’s been a main staple color in my kit because its sheer peachy pink looked amazing against all skin tones and great on camera for the commercial production shoots I work on.
You can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I discovered a new Sugar Daddy color at my beauty supply. I thought it was a mistake in the dye lot so I went to other stores looking for the original. No luck.
I decided to try this new version and it does not compare to the original.
Please bring back the original Sugar Daddy color.

Hello Ocurlygirl! We’re sorry to hear the color 'sugar daddy' is no longer the color you were expecting. This color should be a sweet pink with a sheer finish, perfect for french manicures. The production of our iconic shades has also advanced over the years – higher quality standards, pure color pigments, and new innovative ingredients allow for a better, more consistent product, but also can result in some color variation from the past.

beautiful, sweet color!

I'm normally one to stick to the classic red, or dark maroon colors. I love a darker shade on my nails as I have fair skin and lighter colors can tend to wash out and not pop as much. But, this Spring I wanted something different so I thought I'd try out this color and I LOVED it! I bought a bottle for myself the very next day and wear it all of the time. It's a color that has some brightness and liveliness and still pops against my fair skin but isn't too in your face which is great! Perfect color for Spring and Summer...and for those days in Fall and Winter when you need a bright pick me up :) DEFINITELY try out this color for your next mani.

Difficult Formula, Great Color
Ballet Slippers was one of the first Essie polishes I ever bought, and I bought it because of the amazing reviews I had seen for it. To be completely honest, the formula is VERY difficult to work with. It's a lovely sheer color, but you have to put 3 coats to make the streakiness not visible, and by that point, it is opaque. That being said, once you are used to the formula, it is far easier to work with. All of this said, once it is on the nails and opaque, the color is AMAZING! I have 100+ nail polishes, and yet this is my husband's absolute favorite nail polish on me. It makes my nails look clean and chic; it is so feminine, yet professional.

A must have classic!
I bought this polish because of all the hype around it and when I heard the queen even loves it that was my selling point! This polish is such a classic and perfect for anyone anytime! Whether it be work or school or your wedding it's just amazing! The best way I could describe this color is a ballerina pink (almost like a whitish pink)! It's truly amazing and a staple in any Essie or nail polish collection! If you are looking into buying your first Essie, Ballet Slippers is the one! I must warn you though it is VERY sheer so you need at least 3 coats, but it's definitely worth it because after the three coats it's perfect and with no nail lines!

Love It!

I have 128 Essie's in my collection, and I've had this one for a while now. It has a slightly sheer formula but it is not hard to apply at all. In fact, the sheerness adds dimension to the polish. I think that 3 thin coats or 2 thick ones cover the nail completely, smoothly, evenly. It is a perfect polish for nail art because it could be sheer or opaque depending on how you layer it. However, I personally think it looks best on its own. This is definitely one of my favorites from Essie and one of my all-time favorite polishes. A nail artist (@pictureperfectpolishblog) on Instagram did some gorgeous nail art with it that I enclosed below.
